CGSC Strain#: 5284
Strain Designation: HF4704
Source of Strain: T. Komano
Sex: F-
Chromosomal Markers: thyA45,
uvrA103,
deo-225Strain Comments: - thyA45-- was called tlr-25 and thyR25, in conflict with the thyA25 allele. The Tlr (Thy low req.) phenotype is now known to result from two mutations, thyA--, deo-.
- thyA45-- Strains with this marker must have their medium supplemented with thymine (25ug/ml). This is true even for rich medium such as LB. Otherwise thymine starvation can lead to thymineless death.
- deo-225-- is in deoB or deoC. In combination with a thyA- allele, it results in low Thy-requirement (Tlr) phenotype.
- deo-225 was formerly called thyA45
- deo-225 was formerly called thyR25
- deo-225 was formerly called tlr-25
