• crcA280::Tn10-- originally in SK2257, cotransduces 76% with leuS and also cotransduces with rna. Shown by PCR (Nichols et al.) to be at nucleotide 655,952 (14.139 min.).
• thyA6-- : Even with Luria or other complete media, supplement with thymine.
• thyA6-- Strains with this marker must have their medium supplemented with thymine (25ug/ml). This is true even for rich medium such as LB. Otherwise thymine starvation can lead to thymineless death.
• crcA280::Tn10 was formerly called zbe-280::Tn10
• crcA280::Tn10 was formerly called ybeG::Tn10
• = tetracycline resistant
• strR = streptomycin resist.
